New York, NY, June 16, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Do you remember the old fashioned tire swings hung from a tree branch? Maybe your family had the swing sets instead of the tire swing. Now, there is something better than ever. The Auto Swings is a self-propelled, kinetic apparatus for children intended for use in a backyard or playground. They are constructed largely of recycled automotive parts consisting of a two-seat Speed Coaster that drives the canopied, four-seat swings. Children will find hours of enjoyment and outdoor exercise via a purely mechanical ride that they can power themselves. The Speed Coaster can be sold separately.
The Auto Swings benefits by the innovative use of salvaged automotive parts indicating how items can be recycled to make a creative product totally different from their original purpose. Two of the seats are made from metal electrical conduit and feature both grab-handles and foot-rests in an all-in-one-unit. Visually, Auto Swings resembles a canopy carousel and can seat as few as two or as many as six at a time. The four-seat Auto Swings feature two sling-style seats and two safety swing seats suspended from the tubular rim of the canopy frame by chains. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in the Auto Swings.
The Patent Pending Auto Swings were invented by Donald Sutherland of Houston, TX who said, “One of the several things I like about the Auto Swings is that it can be enjoyed by as few as two or as many as six children at a time. Kids, too, will gain insight into physics (angular momentum) and the mechanical properties of drive shafts and gears. Auto Swings is a great choice for school playgrounds as well as science “Exploratorium’s” and community parks where the apparatus could be accompanied by placards with cut-away drawings revealing the hidden workings. I have a prototype available.”
