"Double Air Spider": A Self-Contained Work Cage

The "Double Air Spider" efficiently goes sideways plus up/down, saving time and money while also increasing safety.

A self-contained work cage, known in the construction industry as an Air Spider, is now both safer and swifter; better yet, it increases the quality of the work, reducing the time and effort of the users and, as such, decreases operational costs. The Double Air Spider is offered as a design improvement to be made on the single-cable, self-lifting, self-contained aerial work cages or “Air Spiders” widely used in high-elevation construction and maintenance work.

The Double Air Spider represents a design improvement on the single-cable, self-lifting work cages generically known as “spiders” after the products of the Spider® division of the SafeWorks Corporation. This improvement equips the spider-type self-lifting work-cages with two cables and two powered winches rather than the single cable and winch with which they are currently equipped. This exchange is an overall basic improvement to the cage and it works and makes it possible to access and perform work in a much larger area than is accessible to a single-cable “spider” without multiple re-positioning. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in the Double Air Spider.

The Patent Pending Double Air Spider was invented by Liborio Luna of Port Arthur, TX who said, “The Double Air Spider saves users in both dollars and safety by offering expanded access and lateral mobility. It really gives high performance and worker-safety for all users by increasing efficiency. It works perfectly and once used contractors will seldom go back to the single-cable Air Spider.”
