Invents Company Unveils "The Roger", Adds Oxygen After Smoke Or Water Inhalation

In the Event of a Fire, The Roger will provide a readily accessible way to attain oxygen at a moment's notice.

Smoke inhalation is the primary cause of death for victims of indoor fires. More people die from smoke inhalation than burns from fires. One way to prevent deaths from smoke inhalation is with The Roger. Specially designed to restore healthy air flow after smoke or water inhalation, The Roger is an oxygen-generating apparatus which gives a readily accessible way to attain oxygen. With The Roger, one recycles his or her own oxygen flow in order to restore clear breathing.

The Roger is a compacted, circular unit measuring approximately 6 to 9 inches in length, 4 to 6 inches in width, ½ inch in depth, and 20 to 30 inches in circumference. When expanded, The Roger takes the form of a wearable mask which is fabricated of clear rubber or clear plastic polymer materials. It has a eye and nose protector and is attached to a snorkel-like mouth covering with a balloon-type air bladder which expands up to one gallon volume.

"The Roger is designed to be easily accessible in the event of a fire and ready to put on at a moments notice. It works equally well following water inhalation. The Roger could and will save lives."

R. J. Cichon , Inventor

Patent Pending, The Roger was invented by R. J. Cichon of Chicago, IL, who said, “One simply places The Roger onto the face so that the eyes and nose are protected from swirling smoke. The mouth covering with the air bladder is positioned in its intended area. One then slowly inhales and exhales. As the air fills the bladder on the exhale, it is redirected as clean oxygen on the inhale. One should keep The Roger in place until reaching a safe, smoke-free area, and proper breathing is restored.”
