"Nu Jacks": An Educational Game

Invents introduces "Nu Jacks" which provides new ways to play a game where players can bounce the way to winning.

A time honored game most every adult will remember is Jacks. Today there is Nu Jacks, an educational game played with numbered jacks (or counting pieces), dice, a rubber ball, and a scorecard. It is similar to a game of jacks where players bounce a ball and pick up counting pieces (numbered jacks) that they must then add, subtract, multiply or divide according to the player's roll of the dice. The design intent is to create an educational game that is fun to play and at the same time reinforce fundamental math skills.

Nu Jacks has designated numbers: 3, 5, 7, 12, 17, 54 and 89 and the remaining game parts consist of a small rubber “superball” and a pair of six-sided standard dice as well as a scorecard book so players can perform and record their calculations throughout the game. This makes for a total 24 piece game system. The rules are simple and included with the game. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating exceptional consumer interest in Nu Jacks.

The Patent Pending Nu Jacks was invented by Elisah Carter of Chicago, IL who said, “This game provides players with hours of fun, particularly those who love traditional games which are a bit different than he or she may be accustomed to playing. Players of all ages will benefit from playing Nu Jacks and it increases one's mathematical abilities, is challenging and fun.”
