ALHAMBRA, Calif., May 26, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Finally, a time-saver for serving a Mexican cerveza preparada (known as a michelada), which is served in a chilled, salt-rimmed glass.
There are numerous variations of this beverage throughout Mexico and Latin America. The most common form is prepared with beer, lime, salt and hot sauces or chile slices. There are several other optional ingredients, such as Maggi Sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chamoy powder, serrano peppers, Camaronazo, Clamato or slices of orange.
Assembling all the ingredients for a michelada is both costly and time-consuming, but the Chelada Kit solves these problems by providing all implements in one affordable kit. The Chelada Kit is a pre-assembled, easily portable kit with cups, which contain the ingredients necessary for creating delicious michelada beverages. The design intent is to provide an all-inclusive, easily affordable product that makes creating these specialty Mexican cocktails fast, easy, effortless, and mess-free.
The container for the kit is a rectangular box measuring approximately 10”L x 5”W and with the top of the box offering a convenient carrying handle for easy portability. On the side is a set of dipping containers that house the michelada's dippers — lemon juice and chile powder — to coat the rims of the cups. Just above, on the top of the box are 2 cup holders designed to hold twelve 16oz. empty cups. Included on the front side of the Chelada Kit is a spout that serves as the dispensary of the michelada mix contained within the unit. The liquid concoction is based on ingredients measured perfectly for the 16-ounce cups.
To make a michelada, one dips the rim of the cup in the lemon juice and then swirls the rim in the chile powder so the powder fully coats the rim’s perimeter. Approximately 1/3 to ¼ of the cup's volume would be dispensed from the box into the cup, and the user then need only add his or her beer of choice. The drink can then be garnished with orange slices or even jumbo shrimp, depending on the preference of the user.
The Chelada Kit is Patent Pending and was invented by Luis Madrigal of Alhambra, CA, who said, “Minimal effort is required to offer consumers a delicious tasting cocktail when using the Chelada Kit. It is portable and eliminates the need to gather and store all the necessary individual ingredients. It is ideal for taking to an event, party or in one’s backyard. Bartenders will find it efficient and facilitates service to patrons. It works everywhere.”
