"The Emer-Medic-Pack": Gives First Responders Vital Medical Information on Victim

Automotive accidents cannot always be avoided and it is hoped that first responders are quick to the rescue.  An emergency can be traumatic for a victim however, when this new device is in use, the potential for further damage is considerably eliminated. The Emer-Medic-Pack places an individual's vital medical information – from their blood-type to their medications, drug-allergies and sensitive conditions – in a glow-in-the-dark, waterproof pouch attached prominently to their seat-belt. It is designed to save time by providing first-responders with an immediate, comprehensive digest of medical conditions, thereby eliminating mistakes when treating an individual for injuries, the Emer-Medic-Pack helps save lives that might otherwise be lost without this vital information.

The Emer-Medic-Pack sheath or pouch is rectangular and fabricated in durable material with the words “Medic Alert” or “Emer-Medic-Pack” embossed in glow-in-the-dark letters. The pouch/sheath wraps around the shoulder-harness strap via Velcro® strips and when closed is waterproof. Within the pouch is a form to be filled in by the user containing vital information including name, address, date of birth, phone numbers and emergency contact information. The form also includes the following: religion, language; blood type and a range of vital signs considered normal. The name of the user’s primary care physician with contact information will also be included. In addition, the form includes a checklist noting if the individual has a pacemaker, contact lenses, dentures, hearing problem, or only one kidney and a space for filling in any other relevant health problems – heart disease, asthma, diabetes, etc. – of which treating accident-responders should be aware. The form also permits the individual to list all current medications and dosages; drug sensitivities or allergies, OTC meds, most recent tetanus shot, and any other relevant medical information. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in the Emer-Medic-Pack.

The Patent Pending Emer-Medic-Pack was invented by Ronnie and Carol Mitchell of Chicago, IL who said, “The Emer-Medic-Pack gives first responders immediate vital information about the user.  When a life is on the line, this is pertinent and vital information for rescuers to have as they care for the victim. It works.”
