LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., May 8, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Alert to device-dependent consumers: Pain in the hands, arms, shoulders, back and/or neck when using an e-reader or other electronic device while reclining ends when the new Phone Hammock is in use. The Phone Hammock is a simple, compact and adjustable ceiling-mounted system for hanging a smartphone, tablet, or e-reader from the ceiling for convenient, hands-free viewing or reading in bed. It frees the user from holding the phone, tablet, or e-reader, while supporting these at an adjustable angle and height. The Phone Hammock appeals to any consumer who enjoys their personal electronic devices in bed, or when reclining on a couch or recliner.
The Phone Hammock mounts to the ceiling with a small wooden base block attached either with screws or an adhesive backing. A sturdy hook descends with a pair of nylon straps and supports the Hammock. The straps are 4’ to 6’ in length and 1/8” to 1/4" in thickness and are adjustable in length to accommodate the user. A pair of spring-loaded, retractable take-up reels spools on the straps of the premium model and can be stored compactly on the take-up reels when The Phone Hammock is not in use. The two straps descend from the ceiling hook to support an adjustable nylon-strap harness or hammock that holds — at any viewing angle desired by the user — the smartphone, tablet, or e-reader. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in The Phone Hammock.
The Phone Hammock is Patent Pending and was invented by Daniel Hoskins, Sr. of Laguna Niguel, Calif., who said, “The Phone Hammock is versatile and works equally well with a phone, a tablet or an e-reader. Never again will your hand go numb when reading the Kindle in bed. It will work for all users and particularly benefit those with hand ailments such as carpal tunnel or arthritis. It works.”
